Dhanbad: A month after deputy commissioner (DC) Aditya Ranjan issued directives, civil surgeon (CS) Dr. Alok Vishwakarma filed a complaint with the police on Wednesday against a city-based doctor. The doctor is accused of obtaining an operating licence for his clinic under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act by submitting forged documents.
Complaint Registered
Dr. Vishwakarma registered his complaint at the Dhanbad police station. The accused doctor, who also serves as the director of his clinic located near Birsa Munda Park, allegedly applied for a PCPNDT licence from the CS office. However, authorities discovered that several documents were forged. The district administration was subsequently informed.
DC's Directive
On May 16, the DC instructed Vishwakarma to initiate legal proceedings against the hospital operator. The doctor, in his defense, claimed that he had already lodged a complaint against one Dipankar Nath, a resident of Manoram Nagar, accusing him of providing the forged documents.
“I was misled and given forged documents by another person. The police have yet to act on my complaint. The authorities must conduct a fair investigation and take appropriate action,” the doctor said.
Civil Surgeon's Statement
Dr. Vishwakarma stated, “Technically, the documents were submitted in his name, making him accountable. A police investigation will reveal the complete facts.”
