The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a forecast indicating heavy rainfall in the ghat regions of Tamil Nadu over the next two days. According to an official statement released on June 21, 2026, the weather system is expected to bring significant precipitation to the hilly areas of the state, particularly on June 23 and June 24.
Squally Weather Warning for Bay of Bengal
In addition to the rain alert, fishermen have been cautioned about squally weather conditions prevailing over most parts of the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that wind speeds could reach up to 40 kmph, creating hazardous conditions for maritime activities. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea during this period to ensure their safety.
