Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the global head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community based in Qadian, Gurdaspur, has issued a strong call for greater emphasis on scientific education and rational thinking. He urged Ahmadi Muslims to engage deeply with modern knowledge systems and challenge misconceptions through evidence-based reasoning.
Address to Youth Gathering
Addressing a large gathering of youth, the community leader emphasized that the future belongs to those equipped with scientific understanding and critical thinking abilities. He clarified that science should not be viewed with suspicion but embraced as a tool to expand human understanding and intellectual capacity.
Responding with Logic and Reason
In a pointed remark, he stated that while some groups attempt to use science to question long-held beliefs, it is equally important for scientifically inclined persons to respond with logic, clarity, and reason. "Seek to dismantle allegations through the power of rationality," he asserted, highlighting the need for informed engagement rather than emotional rebuttal.
Historical Resistance to Science
He noted that resistance to scientific advancement historically stemmed from a lack of understanding, rather than any inherent contradiction between knowledge systems. Ignorance of scientific principles had, at times, led sections of society to oppose progress.
Role of Education
Stressing the role of education, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad urged young minds to actively pursue modern sciences, develop analytical skills, and contribute to intellectual discourse. He described knowledge and reason as essential drivers of progress, adding that societies that fail to invest in scientific literacy risk falling behind in an increasingly competitive world.
Challenge for Waqf-e-Nau Members
He also urged his followers not only to pursue scientific knowledge but also to use their discoveries to support the teachings of Islam and demonstrate their truth. He emphasized that this remains a significant challenge for all Waqf-e-Nau members.
