Mizoram Minister Backs World-Class Mountain Biking Event

The picturesque state of Mizoram is set to host an international sporting spectacle once again. Lalnghinglova Hmar, the Minister of Sports & Youth Services for Mizoram, recently convened a crucial meeting at his Aizawl office to discuss the upcoming Red Bull Aizawl Tlang Ruam 2025.

The meeting brought together the event organizers and two globally renowned mountain bikers, Tomas Slavik and Pedro Burns, who are lending their expertise as mentors for the highly anticipated urban downhill race.

A Boost for Sports and Tourism

Expressing his enthusiasm after the discussions, Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar shared his delight at Mizoram hosting a world-class event of this magnitude for a second time. He emphasized that the competition would do more than just showcase the state's scenic and challenging terrain; it would significantly enhance Mizoram's profile on the global stage.

"It is heartening that Red Bull is bringing top international athletes to Mizoram. We will get to witness world-class mountain biking right here in Aizawl," the minister stated. He clearly identified the dual benefit of the event, noting, "This event promotes both sports and tourism."

Providing a tangible indicator of the event's success, he revealed that almost all hotels in Aizawl are already fully booked by participants and visitors, a development he described as very encouraging. He assured that the state government would continue to provide all possible support to ensure the event's success.

Bigger and Tougher Course for 2025

In response, representatives from Red Bull India extended their gratitude to the Mizoram government for its unwavering cooperation and logistical assistance, highlighting the strong partnership behind the event.

The Red Bull Aizawl Tlang Ruam made its successful debut on October 26 last year, with the race course running from Upper Republic to the Hawla Indoor Stadium. Building on that success, the upcoming edition is scheduled for Saturday and will feature a longer and more challenging route, stretching from Upper Republic to the ITI Veng neighbourhoods.

Anticipation is high for the 2025 race, which is expected to be larger and more competitive, attracting elite mountain bikers from across India and numerous countries worldwide, further cementing its status as a premier event in the mountain biking calendar.
