RBI Employee Crowned Chess Champion at Prestigious Bank Tournament

In a display of strategic brilliance, Harshal Amisar from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) secured the top honour at the Suresh Khandekar Memorial 58th Inter-Bank Chess Tournament. The event, a key fixture in the banking community's sporting calendar, was successfully organized by the Bankers' Sports Council (BSC) at the NDCA hall in Congress Nagar, Nagpur.

A Flawless Victory on the Chessboard

The tournament saw intense competition with 30 players from various banks vying for the title. Competing in a rigorous five-round format, Harshal Amisar delivered a masterclass performance, remaining undefeated throughout the event. His perfect score of five points cemented his position as the clear champion.

Securing the second position was Niket Patil of Punjab National Bank, who finished with an identical points tally. However, Amisar's superior progressive score ensured his victory. Other notable performers who showcased their skills included Harshal Pawar, Rahul Meshram, and Vinit Karole.

Event Inauguration and Key Contributors

The chess meet was formally inaugurated by Sudhakar Nakhate, the General Manager of Shikshak Sahkari Bank, alongside Milind Khandekar. The role of tournament arbiter was expertly handled by Sheetal Panbude, ensuring fair play and smooth proceedings.

The success of the tournament was a collective effort. Key figures from the Bankers' Sports Council present included Prafulla Nandedkar, Ravi Joshi, and Rajesh Joshi. The organizing committee, comprising Mangesh Puranik, Tribhovan Meshram, Praveen Gurang, and Mayuresh Ghangare, was instrumental in managing the event seamlessly.
