Major IPS Reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh: 27 Officers Transferred Across Key Posts
The Uttar Pradesh state government has initiated a substantial administrative overhaul within its police force, announcing the transfer of 27 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in a sweeping reshuffle. This significant move, executed on Monday, impacts critical positions including 13 district police chiefs, multiple police commissionerates, and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) units across the state.
Key Appointments and Transfers in Prominent Districts
The reshuffle introduces several high-profile changes in leadership roles. IGP (Training) Chandra Prakash has been reassigned to take over as IG (Security) in Lucknow, a pivotal position for the state capital's safety apparatus. In Shahjahanpur, SSP Rajesh Dwivedi has been shifted to serve as commandant of PAC Aligarh, with Firozabad SP Saurabh Dixit appointed as the new SSP of Shahjahanpur.
Further adjustments see Chandauli SP Aditya Langhe transferred to Firozabad in the same capacity, while DCP Akash Patel from Varanasi assumes the role of SP for Chandauli. The Etah district witnesses SSP Shyam Narayan Singh moving to command the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Lucknow, with Mau SP Elamaran taking charge as SSP in Etah.
Strategic Postings in Police Commissionerates and PAC Units
The reorganization extends to various police commissionerates and armed units. PAC Commandant Kamlesh Bahadur from Gautam Budh Nagar has been posted as SP of Mau. In Mahoba, SP Prabal Pratap Singh is shifted to serve as SP (Crime) at the DGP headquarters in Lucknow, while Lucknow DCP (East Zone) Shashank Singh is appointed as the new SP of Mahoba.
Rampur sees SP Vidyasagar Mishra transferred to PAC Sitapur, with Maharajganj SP Somendra Meena moving to Rampur in the same capacity. Gautam Budh Nagar DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi takes over as SP of Maharajganj. Additionally, Kaushambi SP Rajesh Kumar is reassigned to PAC Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar SP (City) Satyanarayan Prajapat assumes the role of SP for Kaushambi.
Additional Significant Transfers and New Appointments
The reshuffle includes several other notable changes. Amroha SP Amit Kumar Anand has been transferred to the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, with PAC Aligarh Commandant Lakhan Singh Yadav replacing him in Amroha. ATS SP Vinay Kumar Singh is appointed as Jalaun SP, succeeding Durgesh Kumar, who will take over as commandant of UPSSF in Ayodhya.
In Hamirpur, SP Deeksha Sharma is moved to the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, and Aligarh SP (City) Mrigank Shekhar Pathak steps in as her replacement. Lucknow sees DCP Nipun Agarwal shifted to PAC Moradabad, while DCP Vishwajeet Srivastava is appointed as SP of Bahraich, replacing Ram Nayan Singh, who is transferred to PAC Gautam Budh Nagar.
New appointments include Aditya Bansal posted as SP (City) of Aligarh, Amit Jain taking over as Muzaffarnagar SP, and Agra Cantonment ACP Akshay Mahadik appointed as SP (Rural) of Muzaffarnagar. This comprehensive reshuffle aims to optimize police administration and enhance law enforcement efficiency across Uttar Pradesh's diverse regions.
