Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Acts on Unseasonal Rains, Orders Immediate Crop Damage Assessment
In response to unseasonal rainfall that affected several parts of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken decisive action to address potential agricultural losses. The unexpected weather event has raised significant concerns about damage to standing crops across the state.
Directives Issued to District Administration
The Chief Minister has instructed all district magistrates to remain on high alert and personally conduct thorough inspections of agricultural fields to determine the extent of any crop damage. "The welfare of farmers is the government's priority. Ensure swift assessment of crop damage caused by rains and provide relief," emphasized CM Adityanath during his directives to officials.
He has mandated that district magistrates personally monitor the survey process and conduct ground-level assessments to ensure accurate data collection. The CM has also directed the principal secretary of agriculture and the relief commissioner to maintain direct communication and coordination with field-level officials.
Multi-Departmental Survey Mechanism Activated
To facilitate comprehensive damage assessment, the Chief Minister has ordered immediate joint surveys involving multiple agencies:
- Revenue Department officials
- Agriculture Department representatives
- Insurance company survey teams
These joint teams have been instructed to submit their survey reports to the Chief Minister's office at the earliest possible time to enable prompt release of compensation to affected farmers.
Digital Platforms for Farmer Reporting
In addition to official surveys, the government has activated multiple digital channels for farmers to directly report crop damage:
- Toll-free telephone numbers for immediate reporting
- The Crop Insurance App for digital submissions
- WhatsApp messaging services for convenient communication
- Online platforms under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
- Digital interfaces for the Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme
"All information should be collected on time and made available to the government so that there is no delay in relief operations," stated a government spokesperson, highlighting the administration's commitment to efficient response.
Support Channels for Insurance Issues
Farmers experiencing difficulties with crop insurance claims have been provided with multiple support options:
- Direct contact with district deputy directors of agriculture
- Assistance from district agriculture officers
- Direct communication with insurance company representatives operating in each district
The government's comprehensive approach aims to ensure that no farmer faces unnecessary delays in receiving compensation for weather-related crop losses. The administration has emphasized its commitment to minimizing bureaucratic hurdles and expediting the relief process for the agricultural community affected by the unseasonal weather conditions.
