Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Declares End of Power Rotation Era
In a significant address at Dharamkot town in Moga, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann proclaimed that Punjab has decisively moved beyond the era of power rotation and backroom politics. He emphasized that the people of the state are now firmly in control of Punjab's future, marking a transformative shift in governance.
Criticism of Traditional Parties and Misrule
Mann took aim at traditional political parties, accusing them of decades of misrule that weakened Punjab's youth and law and order. He stated that these parties, whose credibility is eroding, are attempting to mislead the public with false narratives even as their defeat in the 2027 elections becomes increasingly evident. Mann remarked, "Those leaders are now talking about law and order in the state, the hands of whom are drenched with the blood of the youth of the state and who were responsible for chaos in the state." He added that these parties have committed sins against Punjab and its people, and the masses will never forgive them.
Focus on Governance with Pure Intent
Highlighting the importance of intent in leadership, Mann asserted, "If intentions are pure and honest, even a leader for a few hours can bring change, but instead of changing things, previous regimes exploited the people." He expressed his deep connection to Punjab, saying, "Punjab and its people live in my heart, due to which I am here only to serve the masses with missionary zeal. The entire Punjab is my family and I always love to be amongst them, contrary to my predecessors who loved to live in palatial houses."
Major Investments in Education and Healthcare
Earlier in the day, Mann laid the foundation stone for a School of Eminence at village Bajeke, a project valued at Rs 19.76 crore. This initiative aims to revolutionize rural education by providing modern infrastructure, advanced learning facilities, and free coaching for JEE and NEET exams. The goal is to ensure equal opportunities and secure the future of Punjab's youth through enhanced educational access.
Additionally, Mann inaugurated a sub-divisional hospital in Dharamkot with an investment of Rs 18 crore. He announced, "The primary health centre in Dharamkot is being upgraded to a sub-divisional hospital, which will provide quality healthcare facilities to thousands of residents in Dharamkot and nearby villages." This upgrade is part of a broader effort to improve healthcare infrastructure across the state.
Broader Context and Implications
Mann's statements and actions underscore a strategic focus on development and public service over political maneuvering. By investing in key sectors like education and healthcare, his administration aims to address long-standing issues and foster growth. The emphasis on moving beyond traditional politics reflects a commitment to transparent and people-centric governance, setting the stage for future policy initiatives in Punjab.
