Nitish Kumar Reviews Prakash Parv Arrangements in Patna

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements for the 359th Prakash Parv celebrations at Patna Sahib on Friday. The event marks the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, who was born at this sacred site in Patna.

Detailed Inspection of Pilgrim Facilities

Accompanied by Vijay Kumar Choudhary, the state's Minister for Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs, the Chief Minister undertook a meticulous assessment. He examined the accommodation and various amenities set up for the devotees. Nitish Kumar instructed the officials to monitor all arrangements at a micro level to prevent any inconvenience to the pilgrims.

The Prakash Parv attracts a significant number of Sikh pilgrims from around the world, including countries like Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, as well as from Indian states like Punjab and Haryana. The Bihar government organizes extensive facilities for these visitors annually.

Focus on Key Infrastructure Projects

The Chief Minister began his tour by inspecting the newly developed 'Prakash Punj' complex at Patna Sahib. He viewed the spiritual teachings, exhibitions, and Sikh art displayed in the multipurpose light centre and garden project. His attention then turned to an under-construction watchtower facing the 'Prakash Punj'.

Nitish Kumar directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work on the watchtower. He emphasized that once ready, it would offer devotees a better view of the 'Prakash Punj'. A communique from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated that the watchtower complex is being developed as an attractive green space. It will include a pond and provisions for walking and sitting, benefiting both pilgrims and local residents.

Community Hall and Tent City Assessment

The review continued at the newly built OP Sah Community Hall in the Malsalami area of Patna City. Here, the CM gathered detailed information about the facilities provided to the devotees. He issued necessary instructions concerning cleanliness and security measures at the venue.

Pilgrims present at the community hall expressed their appreciation to the Chief Minister. They thanked him for the excellent arrangements and noted that all their needs had been carefully addressed, which contributed to their happiness.

Subsequently, Nitish Kumar proceeded to Kangan Ghat. He inspected the expansive tent city erected for pilgrims and was briefed about the arrangements there. Officials informed him about plans to construct a multilevel parking facility at Kangan Ghat to ease congestion.

During his interactions, the Chief Minister highlighted the pride of Bihar in being the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh. He stated that the government has worked on numerous projects focusing on fine details for devotee comfort. Nitish Kumar reiterated the administration's commitment to ensuring that all visitors, especially those from outside the state, leave with a positive and happy experience.
