In anticipation of large crowds for the upcoming cultural festival, the Mangaluru City Police have rolled out a comprehensive traffic management plan. The police advisory aims to ensure smooth vehicular movement and safety during the Karavali Utsava, which begins this Saturday.
Event Details and Inauguration
The inaugural ceremony of the much-awaited Karavali Utsava is scheduled for Saturday, December 30, at 6:00 PM. The event will be held at the Karavali Utsava Ground in the heart of the city. Dakshina Kannada district minister Dinesh Gundu Rao will officially inaugurate the festivities. Following the inauguration, a series of cultural and public programs are planned every evening at the same venue, continuing until Tuesday, January 2.
Traffic Restrictions and Parking Guidelines
City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has issued clear instructions to prevent congestion. A key restriction is the strict prohibition of parking on both sides of the road stretching from Lalbagh to the Karavali Utsava Ground. Visitors are strongly urged to use only the officially designated parking areas to avoid penalties and towing.
To assist the public, the police have installed traffic signboards and parking guidance flexboards along all major approach routes. Authorities request everyone to follow these instructions diligently for a hassle-free experience.
