A man in Tirupati district narrowly escaped a murder plot allegedly orchestrated by his wife and her paramour, prompting him to seek refuge at a police station on Wednesday. Eswar Reddy, a resident of Lingapuram village, rushed to the Proddatur police station after learning that hired killers were pursuing him.
Background of the Incident
Reddy, who has been married to his wife for 15 years, accused her of conspiring to have him killed. According to police reports, the woman had developed an intimate relationship with an attendant working at a government hospital. When Reddy discovered the affair, the couple allegedly decided to eliminate him.
Execution of the Plot
To fund the murder, the woman sold her jewelry, raising approximately ₹10 lakh. She then convinced her paramour to hire a contract killer to carry out the plan. The couple reportedly coordinated the attack, but Reddy managed to escape and reach the police station before any harm could be done.
Police Action and Investigation
Authorities have taken five individuals into custody, including the woman and her alleged lover. Police are conducting a thorough investigation, questioning all suspects to uncover further details of the conspiracy. The motive appears to be rooted in the extramarital affair and the fear of exposure.
Further investigation is ongoing as police work to ensure the safety of the victim and bring all involved to justice.
