Maharashtra Minority Commission Chairman Demands Action Against Former MP Navneet Rana

Nagpur: In a significant development, Maharashtra Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan has written a formal letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging immediate action against former Amravati MP Navneet Rana. Khan has accused Rana of deliberately promoting a communal agenda in the highly sensitive Amravati district sex scandal case, which has captured national attention.

Allegations of Communal Incitement

In his detailed letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Khan expressed deep concern over Rana's public statements regarding the scandal. He emphasized that Rana, along with BJP MP Anil Bonde, had alleged that nearly 200 Hindu girls were sexually exploited by the primary accused, 19-year-old Ayaan Ahmed, who is currently in police custody along with seven other individuals. According to the allegations, Ayaan recorded videos of sexual acts, and the co-accused disseminated this content online.

Khan pointed out that these claims were circulated widely on social media and various other platforms without any prior police verification. "Later, police clarified the facts and stated such claims were not based on evidence," Khan wrote in his letter. He further highlighted that, as per the latest police reports, all eight survivors identified in the case are Muslims, contradicting the initial allegations made by Rana and Bonde.

Rana's Provocative Remarks and Khan's Concerns

The Minority Commission Chairman accused Rana of making inflammatory and insensitive comments in her public speeches, specifically targeting the Muslim community. "These statements included provocative and insensitive comments such as asking them to go to Pakistan. Such remarks affect social harmony and are contrary to constitutional values of equality and fraternity," Khan asserted. He urged the Prime Minister to take strict action against Rana for tarnishing the government's "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" campaign, which aims to foster inclusive development.

Speaking exclusively to the media, Khan elaborated on his concerns, stating, "Her statements could have triggered a riot. Does she not understand the gravity of the situation? She peddled lies putting the entire city at risk. She is a former MP, and she should act responsibly."

Navneet Rana's Fierce Retaliation

In a swift and forceful response, Navneet Rana defended her position and launched a counterattack against Pyare Khan. She declared, "Why has Khan not spoken about the TCS case, where Hindu girls were being targeted? Remember, I will always stand up for Hindus, no matter what." Rana demanded Khan's immediate resignation for his alleged silence on the 2022 lynching of Amravati pharmacist Umesh Kohle, who had supported a statement made by a BJP spokesperson.

Rana criticized Khan's "selective outrage" as unwelcome and unacceptable. "He should apologise on behalf of his community for what happened in Amravati's Paratwada. Wait till data from accused's laptop emerges and I will speak in detail after that. Also, where does Khan go when cases of love jihad surface in Maharashtra? In fact, he is the one who must quit," Rana stated emphatically.

History of Political Confrontations

This recent clash is not the first instance of conflict between Pyare Khan and Navneet Rana. Earlier this year, the two leaders engaged in a similar public confrontation. At that time, Khan had taken a pointed jab at Rana's political background, particularly her decision to join the BJP in 2024. Khan had remarked, "I am original BJP, I was born in this party. I did not come from some other place," indirectly referencing Rana's transition from an independent candidate to the BJP.

Upcoming Review Meeting Amidst Tensions

As the war of words intensifies between these two prominent BJP figures, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule is scheduled to conduct a crucial review meeting regarding the Amravati sex scandal case. The meeting is set to take place on Saturday at 12:30 PM, where key developments and ongoing investigations will be discussed in detail.
