Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Emphasizes Public Welfare and Efficient Resource Management

In a significant meeting held at the civil secretariat in Chandigarh on Friday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini underscored the state government's unwavering commitment to prioritizing the provision of maximum facilities for the general public. He stressed the importance of ensuring better and more effective utilization of available resources to enhance public services and infrastructure.

Accelerating Implementation of Public Welfare Schemes

Presiding over the meeting with various departmental officers, CM Saini directed all departments to expedite the implementation of public welfare schemes. He emphasized that these initiatives must be carried out with public interest at the forefront, ensuring timely and efficient execution to benefit citizens across the state.

Infrastructure Improvements for Safety and Convenience

During the review of works related to the Public Works Department (PWD) and power utilities, the Chief Minister issued specific instructions to officials. He mandated that electricity poles installed along roads maintain a proper distance to prevent public inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic movement. CM Saini explicitly stated that power utilities should install poles at least 3 feet away from paved roads. This measure aims to provide sufficient space for vehicles, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing road safety.

Resource Management and Pole Maintenance

In addition to installation guidelines, CM Saini instructed officials to immediately remove any damaged, dilapidated, or unused electricity poles along roads. He also called for the preparation of a complete stock record of such poles to facilitate proper resource management. The Chief Minister highlighted that poles shifted from their original locations should not be left unused but rather reused wherever possible. This approach is expected to conserve government resources and accelerate ongoing projects.

Coordinated Efforts for Effective Scheme Implementation

CM Saini reiterated that the state government has launched numerous schemes and projects for public welfare, but their real benefit can only be achieved through coordinated efforts. He urged all departments to work together in a time-bound manner to ensure these schemes are effectively implemented on the ground, thereby improving the lives of Haryana's residents.

Transparency and Accountability in Governance

The Chief Minister reminded officials that the ultimate objective of government policies and schemes is to make people's lives better and more convenient. Therefore, every department must ensure that implementation is carried out with transparency, efficiency, and accountability, leading to improved services for citizens.

Review of Irrigation and Water Resources Department

In a separate review of the irrigation and water resources department, CM Saini emphasized that there should be no increase in the fixed cost of works without valid justification. He asserted that quality must not be compromised in any project. Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Choudhry was present during this review. The Chief Minister also directed officers to complete the reconstruction work of the augmentation canal from Hamida Head to Picholia Head within the stipulated time and ensure no compromise in the quality of the railway bridge construction on the Western Yamuna Canal.
