Gurgaon Student Brutally Assaulted Outside Examination Centre, Suffers Multiple Fractures
In a shocking incident in Gurgaon, a Class XII student sustained multiple fractures and serious head injuries after being allegedly attacked by a group of youths armed with iron rods and sticks outside an examination centre in Sector 14. The assault, which occurred on March 28, has led to a police case being registered two days later at the Sector 14 police station, naming four individuals as accused.
Details of the Violent Attack
The victim, identified as Piyush Singh, a resident of Patel Nagar in Sector 15 Part 2 who hails from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, was leaving the examination centre around 1:45 PM after appearing for his board exam. According to his complaint, three youths—Sahil, Ricky, and Raju—blocked his path and initiated the assault. One of them struck him on the head with a brick and an iron rod, causing him to fall to the ground.
Soon after, approximately 10 to 12 more youths arrived in a Scorpio and another vehicle, joining in the brutal attack. Piyush attempted to seek refuge in a nearby canteen, but a group of five to seven attackers followed him inside and continued beating him with rods and sticks. He alleged that one of the assailants was carrying a gun and threatened to kill him during the ordeal.
Severe Injuries and Police Investigation
Piyush sustained fractures in both legs and his right hand, and his mobile phone was snatched when he tried to call for help. He was initially admitted to a hospital in Sector 10, where doctors recorded 14 injuries and declared him unfit to provide a statement on the day of the incident. The following day, after being declared fit by medical professionals, he filed a written complaint in the presence of his relatives.
A senior police officer stated that the assault appears to be linked to a previous enmity, with an altercation having occurred between the victim and the group last month. The police are actively working to ascertain the exact reason behind the attack and the nature of their prior conflict. Meanwhile, a dedicated team is conducting raids to apprehend the accused involved in this violent incident.
Legal Actions and Charges Filed
The case has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt
- Section 190 for unlawful assembly
- Section 191(2) for rioting
- Section 117(2) for voluntary causing grievous hurt
- Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation
- Section 124 for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using acid etc.
