The incident took place at Madhuryam, the residence of Madhavan in Thrangali, which falls under the Vaniyamkulam grama panchayat. The two-sovereign gold chain, belonging to Madhavan's daughter-in-law Aswathi, had been missing for several days, causing significant distress to the family. Unbeknownst to them, the precious ornament had been accidentally discarded along with regular household waste.

During routine waste segregation, HKS worker Priya was sorting through plastic waste collected from the house when she made a surprising discovery. Inside a small container within the waste bag, she spotted the gold chain. Recognizing its value, Priya immediately alerted her colleagues, Sheeja and Vijayalakshmi, to ensure proper handling of the situation.
The trio of workers acted swiftly and responsibly. Without any delay, they contacted the family to inform them of the find. The chain was promptly handed over to its rightful owners, bringing immense relief and gratitude to Madhavan and his family.
