In a remarkable display of swift governance, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ensured justice for the daughter of a deceased army officer, leading to the recovery of her illegally occupied house in Lucknow within a mere 24 hours of her plea.
A Cry for Help Reaches the Chief Minister
The case involves Anjana, the daughter of late Major Bipin Chandra Bhatt, who passed away in 1994. After battling personal tragedies and deteriorating mental health, Anjana, diagnosed with schizophrenia, was admitted to the Nirvan Rehabilitation Centre in Lucknow in 2016. Her family home at A-418, A block, Indiranagar, fell vacant during her absence.
Exploiting this vulnerable situation, a man identified as Balwant Kumar Yadav from Chandauli, with the help of an aide named Manoj Kumar Yadav, allegedly used forged documents to illegally seize the property. They even installed their own nameplate on the house.
Despite lodging a police complaint last month, Anjana saw little progress. Frustrated, she sought direct intervention. With facilitation from the rehabilitation centre, Anjana met CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday and explained her ordeal.
Immediate Action and Arrests
Taking serious note of the matter, CM Yogi Adityanath immediately directed the Lucknow police and district administration to act without delay. The official machinery swung into action promptly.
By Thursday morning, the illegal occupants were evicted from the premises. The police arrested both accused, Balwant Kumar Yadav and Manoj Yadav, and booked them under sections related to criminal conspiracy, cheating, and the use of forged documents for illegal occupation.
ACP Indiranagar Anindya Vikram Singh confirmed the arrests and the charges filed against the duo. The house was formally restored to its rightful owner, Anjana, in the presence of police and administrative officials.
An Emotional Homecoming
An overwhelmed Anjana returned to her home on Thursday, expressing profound gratitude. With folded hands and a voice choked with emotion, she said, "Thank you, Yogi Uncle. God bless you."
Her homecoming was deeply emotional. She performed a small ritual, lighting a lamp, breaking a coconut, and offering flowers. She walked through each room, touching the walls and reminiscing about her childhood memories. Neighbours joined in, sharing her joy and relief at the resolution.
Santosh Dubey of the Nirvan rehabilitation centre, which helped arrange the meeting with the CM, highlighted the speed of justice. "Once the matter reached the Chief Minister, the response was immediate. Justice was delivered in less than a day," he stated.
This incident underscores the power of direct grievance redressal and has brought immense relief to Anjana, the sole surviving heir of Major Bhatt, who can now hope for peace and stability in her family home.
