The constituency's demographic profile adds significant weight to the bypoll, with Lingayats constituting nearly 30% of the 2.2 lakh electorate, while Kurubas account for approximately 35,000 votes. The BJP is heavily reliant on its traditional Lingayat base to secure a win, whereas the Congress is banking on the Ahinda vote bloc, which has historically shown loyalty to Siddaramaiah. He stated, "Our candidate Veeranna is a close friend, and we are seeing even functionaries from the Congress expressing willingness to campaign for him. We welcome anyone who is prepared to work towards his victory, including those from within our own ranks who may have differing views."
