Bengal BJP Launches Massive Campaign: 13,000 Rallies Before 2026 Polls
BJP Plans 13,000 Rallies in Bengal Over Next Month

In a major political offensive, the Bharatiya Janata Party's West Bengal unit has drawn up an aggressive roadmap for the 2026 state assembly elections, announcing plans to hold a staggering 13,000 rallies across the state within a month. This massive outreach effort comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged state party leaders to remain focused and confident.

A 'Pahar Se Sagar Yatra' of Rallies

The campaign, described by state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya as a 'Pahar Se Sagar Yatra' (from the mountains to the sea), is set to kick off this Friday. The initial phase will see 1,300 small and medium rallies organized in a single day. The party is adopting a meticulous booth-level strategy, dividing the state into clusters comprising five to six booths each, with rallies planned for every cluster over the next month.

"There is a palpable enthusiasm among people around BJP this time and we need to address that," Bhattacharya said. He added that people are urging party workers and leaders to take the fight to the streets and highlight the failures of the state government.

Top Leadership to Join the Fray

As part of this intensified campaign, Bengal BJP functionaries have requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the first major rally of this series in Ranaghat in December. According to party sources, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address at least seven rallies in Bengal in the run-up to the 2026 polls.

The party is also in talks with the offices of other Union ministers. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to address rallies, and discussions are ongoing with Union Home Minister Amit Shah's office for his participation. The campaign aims to intensify engagement with both veteran and new party workers.

Grassroots Strategy at Shakti Kendras

Detailing the plan, former state BJP president Rahul Sinha explained that the campaign will commence on December 5 with 1,300 meetings at the party's Shakti Kendras. These meetings, to be held between 5 pm and 7 pm, will be addressed by local leaders. Following this, large assembly-wise public meetings will be organized.

Sinha emphasized that the campaign will be tailored to address specific regional concerns, with ground-level feedback playing a crucial role in shaping the party's narrative. The entire schedule of 13,000 big and small meetings is planned to be completed by January 15, ahead of the election of the party's new national president.

BJP leaders state that this unprecedented mobilization is a direct response to the public mood and is designed to make a concerted effort to reconnect with core workers. The party is positioning this as a decisive move to build momentum and challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress government in the crucial 2026 electoral battle.
