Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials and oil marketing companies to work in close coordination to restore normalcy in the fuel supply situation across the state and ensure that the public does not face any inconvenience.
The CM, who held a teleconference with Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, district collectors, superintendents of police, senior civil supplies officials, and representatives of oil marketing companies, sought details of the measures taken to address the issue. Oil marketing company representatives informed that normalcy was expected to be restored in a majority of areas by Monday evening. They said oil tankers dispatched from depots in the morning would reach retail fuel stations by evening.
Naidu instructed them to ensure uninterrupted fuel movement from depots to retail outlets without delays. He asked the district collectors and SPs to personally monitor fuel distribution to prevent hardship to the public and directed senior officials to visit dispatch centres and oversee supplies on the ground.
He further directed officials to monitor the situation continuously through the RTGS Centre and submit status reports every three hours to ministers and senior officials. He also asked them to respond promptly based on field-level inputs and reports appearing in the media and on social media platforms. Issuing a stern warning, the CM said strict action should be taken against anyone resorting to black marketing. He directed oil companies to function round the clock until the situation was fully resolved and supplies normalised across the state.
