Akhilesh Yadav Accuses UP Govt of Corruption and Voter Deletion

Akhilesh Yadav Launches Scathing Attack on UP Government

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday delivered a sharp critique of the Uttar Pradesh government, accusing it of widespread corruption, escalating inflation, and engaging in political conspiracies to tarnish his party's reputation. Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Lucknow, the former chief minister did not hold back in his condemnation.

Allegations of Mafia Rule and Economic Mismanagement

Yadav described the BJP-led state government as "a government of mafia" and labeled it the most chaotic and corrupt administration in history. He pointed to specific economic grievances, noting that the cost of LPG cylinders had increased by Rs 60 and rarely decreased, placing a direct burden on households. "The government is continuously increasing taxes, which in turn is fuelling inflation and placing an additional burden on the public," he asserted, highlighting the financial strain on ordinary citizens.

Concerns Over Electoral Integrity

Raising serious questions about the functioning of the Election Commission, Yadav alleged that there were systematic attempts to delete voters' names on a large scale across assembly constituencies. "If the Samajwadi Party had not raised its voice, the BJP would have succeeded in orchestrating large-scale deletions of voter names," he claimed, emphasizing the importance of electoral transparency and fairness.

Defense of Religious Figures and Institutions

Responding to inquiries about a Shankaracharya, Yadav stated that the Shankaracharya represented a respected institution and ideology. He accused the BJP government of insulting this religious figure by making false allegations, which he argued also harmed the image of Sanatan Dharm. This defense underscored his party's stance on protecting cultural and religious values from political manipulation.

Foreign Policy and International Responsibilities

On matters of foreign policy, the former chief minister stressed that it was the government's responsibility to ensure the safe return of Indian citizens working in Gulf countries who wished to come home. He further emphasized that India's foreign policy should be determined by the Indian government and its people, not by external influences, advocating for national sovereignty in international affairs.

Highlighting SP's Achievements and Future Vision

Yadav took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the Samajwadi Party government during its tenure in Uttar Pradesh, noting that the party's vision had always focused on development, employment, and job creation. Looking ahead, he outlined the party's political agenda, which aims to form a government based on the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) social coalition. "We will work towards ensuring social justice and establishing a governance model centred on inclusive representation," he declared, positioning the SP as a champion of marginalized communities.

In summary, Akhilesh Yadav's press conference served as a comprehensive indictment of the current UP government while articulating a clear alternative vision rooted in social justice and economic relief for the people of Uttar Pradesh.
