The preliminary survey for the Rs 1,445 crore Mahalaxmi Temple Area Development Plan will commence on Saturday, May 2, with three teams set to gather property-related information from residents within the project area.
Collector's Appeal for Accurate Information
Collector Vijay Rathod, who also serves as the acting head of the Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti, has appealed to residents to provide accurate data to ensure the smooth execution of the project. He emphasized that precise information is vital for the successful restoration of the historic temple and its surroundings.
Government Approval and Project Vision
The plan received approval from the state government on May 6, 2025. It aims to restore the Mahalaxmi temple and its environs to their original grandeur. The preparatory phase includes a detailed survey of properties within the notified development area, starting this weekend.
Coordination Meeting and Survey Teams
A coordination meeting was held at the collector's office on Wednesday evening to review the survey process and implementation strategy. Provincial officer of Karvir tehsil Mousami Chougule stated that three survey teams have been formed, comprising officials from the revenue department, municipal corporation, and city survey office.
Chougule explained, 'The teams will visit property owners and fill in survey forms. Accurate information from citizens is crucial, as further action for area development will be based on the data collected.' She urged full cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the project's success.
