NARMADAPURAM: Five people lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) carrying members of a marriage party collided head-on with a tractor-trolley in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district early Monday, according to police.
Accident Details
The tragic incident occurred around 1:30 am near Anchalkheda on the Tawa river bridge. The group was returning from Mana village in Budhni tehsil of Sehore district when the accident took place, an official said.
The SUV rammed into a tractor-trolley loaded with soybeans, resulting in the immediate death of five individuals. Seven others were injured in the collision, confirmed Makhan Nagar police station in-charge Anup Kumar Uikey.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Sahil Yadav (19), Hari Singh Yadav (57), Vineet Yadav (22), Shubham Morappa (18), and Santosh Prajapati, according to police.
Injured Hospitalized
Those injured in the accident have been admitted to a hospital in Makhan Nagar for treatment, the official added.
Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
