A tragic road accident in Agra's Bichpuri area on Sunday claimed the lives of a 36-year-old autorickshaw driver from Delhi-NCR and his 15-year-old son, while three other family members sustained injuries. The incident occurred when the autorickshaw they were traveling in collided with an ambulance.

Details of the Accident

According to police, Nemi Singh, the autorickshaw driver, had come to his ancestral village, Sadarvan, with his family to attend his cousin's wedding. He was using the same autorickshaw he drove for work. On Sunday, he was heading to a market with his wife and three sons when the accident happened.

The collision caused the three-wheeler to overturn. CCTV footage of the incident showed the ambulance dragging the autorickshaw for some distance after the crash.

Injuries and Medical Response

Singh's wife, Kanta, and his two other sons, Nikhil and Prashant, were rushed to SN Medical College for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Jagdishpura SHO Pradeep Kumar Singh stated, “We reached the spot after receiving information and shifted the injured to the hospital. The bodies were later sent for postmortem examination.”

Investigation Underway

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. The ambulance driver has been taken into custody for questioning. Authorities are also reviewing the CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the collision.

The tragic incident has left the family devastated, and the local community has expressed grief over the loss of life.
