Lucknow: The newly elected office-bearers of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) Employees Association have pledged to address staff concerns, ensure better access to treatment, and expedite the promotion process. The election results were announced on Wednesday, and the new leadership immediately outlined their priorities.
Key Focus Areas
President Dharmesh Kumar and General Secretary Seema Shukla stated that resolving employee issues would be their top priority. Kumar highlighted several key focus areas, including addressing concerns arising from standardisation policies, ensuring priority access to beds and outpatient department (OPD) services for staff during emergencies, and guaranteeing timely availability of treatment and medicines.
Promotion Process and Other Demands
The association has proposed holding departmental promotion committees (DPCs) twice a year to accelerate the promotion process. Other demands include strengthening residential security, improving parking facilities, and setting up staff canteens across all buildings within the institute premises.
Institute Officials Present
Senior institute officials, including Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Devendra Gupta, Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajesh Harshvardhan, and Registrar Varun Bajpai, attended the event along with a large number of employees. The presence of these officials underscores the importance of the association's demands and the collaborative effort required to address them.
