Kolkata witnessed two separate fire incidents on Tuesday, one on the city's outskirts and another in the central area, causing panic but no casualties.
Fire at Paint Godown in Narendrapur
Around 8 am, a fire broke out at a paint godown in Ramchandrapur, Narendrapur, triggering panic among local residents. The blaze intensified rapidly due to a large stock of paints and chemicals stored inside. As a precautionary measure, residents were evacuated to safer locations. Six fire tenders were deployed to douse the flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Fire on Madan Street in Central Kolkata
Another fire was reported at 5 pm from a building on Madan Street that housed several mobile repair shops. The fire damaged six shops, leading to a swift response from the fire department. Three fire tenders were pressed into service to control the situation. No injuries were recorded in this incident either.
Authorities are investigating the causes of both fires. Residents and shop owners have been advised to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols.
