In a tragic incident in Amravati, two men died on the spot and another was seriously injured when a speeding tipper truck collided with the motorcycle they were riding. The accident occurred near Aaradhana Chowk, close to Kathora Jakat Naka, in the early hours of Tuesday.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Tejas alias Golya Diwakar Mathurkar (20), a resident of Mahendra Colony, and Yash Kanojiya (21), a resident of Navsari. Their friend, Niraj Avinash Kokate, sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Accident Details
According to police, the trio was riding a motorcycle on Kathora Road around 12:30 am on Tuesday when a recklessly driven tipper truck rammed into their bike near Aaradhana Chowk. Gadge Nagar police rushed to the scene and immediately shifted the injured to the District General Hospital. Upon arrival, doctors declared Mathurkar and Kanojiya dead. Niraj Kokate remains under medical care.
Police Action
Gadge Nagar Police conducted a panchnama of the accident spot and registered a case against the truck driver. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Postmortems of the deceased were performed on Tuesday.
