22-Year-Old AC Mechanic Stabbed to Death in Vidisha for Opposing Harassment
Vidisha: Man killed for opposing harassment, CCTV footage surfaces

A 22-year-old man paid the ultimate price for standing up against the harassment of a young woman in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district. The victim, identified as Nandhu alias Shubham Choubey, was brutally stabbed to death on Saturday night, an act of retaliation for his earlier intervention.

Confrontation Leads to Deadly Retaliation

According to police details, the tragic sequence of events began when Shubham, who worked as an air-conditioner repairman, confronted a man named Chunni, a resident of Karaiya Kheda Road, and his associates. Shubham had objected to the group allegedly harassing a young woman. This initial confrontation, however, was not reported to the authorities.

The situation turned fatal on Saturday night around 8 pm. Chunni and his accomplices arrived at Indraprastha Colony on a motorcycle. They called Shubham out of his house and launched a vicious attack, stabbing him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

A Silent Neighbourhood and a Fatal Outcome

Police reports indicate a chilling detail: though several people were present in the neighbourhood at the time of the assault, no one intervened to stop the attackers. Seriously injured, Shubham was later taken to a hospital by local residents. He, however, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the area. The footage, which has now surfaced, clearly shows the accused and their associates assaulting Shubham. This video evidence has become crucial for the investigation.

Police Investigation and Manhunt Underway

Police were alerted and reached the spot to begin their probe. They also visited the hospital, but Shubham had already passed away. A murder case has been officially registered based on the evidence.

Authorities are now using the CCTV footage to identify the accused. Special teams have been formed to track down and arrest all those involved in the crime. Police have assured that further action will be taken as the investigation progresses, highlighting the use of technology in solving this heinous crime.
