The officer further explained that both Purushottam Singh and Ashok Mahto fell into a deep ditch by the roadside, sustaining severe injuries that proved fatal on the spot. Emergency services were alerted, but the victims were declared dead at the scene. The bodies were later recovered and subjected to a postmortem examination, after which they were handed over to their grieving families on Wednesday.
