The victims have been identified as Purushottam Singh, aged 20, and Ashok Mahto, aged 14, both residents of Latu-Samkona village under the jurisdiction of the Raidih police station. According to Kumar, the accident occurred around 7 pm as the duo was returning home from a visit to neighbouring Sursang village, where they had met a friend. They were riding a high-powered motorbike that was reportedly speeding at the time. The bike lost control near a blind turn at Aranda Narsingh Bagla, leading to the fatal skid.
The officer further explained that both Purushottam Singh and Ashok Mahto fell into a deep ditch by the roadside, sustaining severe injuries that proved fatal on the spot. Emergency services were alerted, but the victims were declared dead at the scene. The bodies were later recovered and subjected to a postmortem examination, after which they were handed over to their grieving families on Wednesday.
