Two dead after truck overturns on motorcycle in Rewa

A horrific road accident in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district late Sunday night claimed two lives and left two others critically injured. The tragedy unfolded when a speeding truck, after a head-on collision with a tractor trolley, overturned onto a motorcycle.

Sequence of the Tragic Collision

The incident occurred around 1 am on Monday near Barhi village, under the jurisdiction of the Raipur Karchuliyan police station. According to police, a truck laden with stone chips was on its way towards Manikwar when it collided head-on with an oncoming tractor trolley.

The impact caused the truck to lose balance and overturn. In a devastating turn, the falling truck crushed a motorcycle that was travelling behind the tractor trolley. The two individuals on the motorcycle bore the full brunt of the accident.

Victims Identified, Police Cite Overspeeding

The deceased have been identified as Bhawandeen Pasi, 45, and Sachin Pasi, 18, both local residents. They were declared dead on the spot by authorities.

Raipur Karchuliyan police station in-charge Atul Tripathi stated that preliminary investigation points to overspeeding as a primary cause. "The truck was overspeeding and overturned after the collision," Tripathi confirmed. The two injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition for urgent medical treatment.

Aftermath and Ongoing Investigation

Following the accident, traffic movement in the area was disrupted briefly until the wrecked vehicles were cleared from the road. The police have registered a case and a detailed investigation into the exact circumstances is currently underway.

This fatal accident has once again highlighted the grave consequences of speeding and reckless driving on Indian roads, especially on highways and rural stretches during late hours.
