A dramatic CCTV video from Karnataka has captured the moment a truck lost control on a busy highway, first crashing into a tractor and then veering across the median into the opposite carriageway, triggering a massive cloud of dust and debris. The footage shows vehicles moving normally along both sides of the divided roadway before the incident unfolds within seconds.
Sequence of the Crash
In the clip, a truck traveling on one side of the highway collides with a tractor moving ahead of it. The impact sends the heavy vehicle out of control. Instead of remaining in its lane, the truck mounts the median, tears through the central divider, and enters the carriageway meant for oncoming traffic. This creates a huge dust cloud, reducing visibility for motorists approaching from both directions. The truck then collides with another vehicle on the opposite side of the road before coming to a halt. Within moments, the busy highway is covered in dust.
Rising Concerns Over Highway Safety
The video has surfaced amid growing concerns over highway safety and high-speed crashes in Karnataka. In a separate accident reported from Vijayapura district, three people were killed and 23 others injured after a collision involving a private bus and a goods vehicle, highlighting the dangers posed by heavy vehicles on state highways. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, while police launched an investigation into the incident.
