Three Dead, Four Injured in Horrific Bahadurgarh Canter Rampage

A speeding canter unleashed a trail of destruction in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, on Monday, killing three people and leaving four others injured in a terrifying sequence of collisions. The driver, who attempted to flee the scene, has been apprehended by police following a swift investigation.

Chaos Erupts on Busy Delhi-Rohtak Road

The tragic incident unfolded around 12:30 pm at Mama Chowk on the heavily trafficked Delhi-Rohtak road. According to police reports and eyewitness accounts, the canter first struck two daily-wage labourers who were crossing the road, killing both individuals instantly.

Instead of stopping to render aid, the driver accelerated the vehicle, continuing the deadly rampage. The canter then crashed into several other people before crushing a motorcycle near the bypass area. The motorcyclist, identified as Yogendra (30), died immediately at the scene, while his associate Praveen sustained critical injuries.

Multiple Vehicles Targeted in Violent Spree

The vehicle's destructive path continued as it rammed into an autorickshaw, injuring all three occupants inside. The chaos finally ended when the canter lost control and became wedged between pillars beneath the Najafgarh flyover, bringing the violent spree to a halt.

The driver abandoned the vehicle at the scene but was tracked down through registration details and subsequently arrested by authorities. Police have registered a case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the horrific incident.

Victims Identified, Critical Injuries Reported

The deceased victims have been identified as Ashok (32) and Shambhu (22), both residents of Chhapra in Bihar, along with Yogendra (30). Among the injured, one victim named Prem has been referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, in critical condition, highlighting the severity of the injuries sustained during the rampage.

This tragic event has raised serious concerns about road safety and driver accountability on Haryana's busy thoroughfares, particularly along the crucial Delhi-Rohtak corridor where pedestrian and vehicle traffic remains consistently heavy throughout the day.
