Panic gripped the bustling Paldi area of Ahmedabad on Wednesday afternoon following a loud explosion inside a parcel at the office of a travel and cargo company. This incident prompted a swift response from police and emergency teams, who rushed to the scene to assess the situation.

The explosion occurred at the office of Falcon Travels, where several parcels were stored for dispatch. According to police reports, the sudden blast damaged the office signboard and some equipment, alarming employees and nearby shopkeepers. Initial fears of a serious explosion led to a rapid mobilization of multiple agencies, including teams from the police, fire brigade, bomb squad, and dog squad.

Investigation Reveals Cause of the Explosion

A preliminary investigation revealed that the explosion was caused by silicone spray bottles kept inside one of the parcels. Officials explained that the bottles were exposed to heat, which likely created pressure and caused them to burst. Assistant Commissioner of Police S M Patel clarified that the blast was not severe and did not involve any explosive material.

"Some spray bottles kept outside in the heat developed pressure and burst, resulting in a loud sound. No one was injured in the incident," Patel stated, providing reassurance to the public.

Precautionary Measures and Official Response

As a precautionary measure, police officials, including senior officers, inspected the site to ensure safety. The bomb squad also scanned other packages to confirm they contained no hazardous items. This thorough check helped alleviate concerns and restore normalcy in the area.

DCP Zone-7 Shivam Verma and Paldi police inspector Manju Paradva were not available for comment on the issue, but the swift action by emergency teams highlighted the effectiveness of the response protocol.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of proper storage for items sensitive to temperature changes, especially in commercial settings.
