"The suspect admitted to killing both the girl and the elderly woman," Inspector Narke stated. "He revealed that he had planned to murder Mangal Shinde because he believed she was encouraging his wife to distance herself from him. While he was attacking the elderly woman with a blunt object, the six-year-old girl, who was sleeping beside her, woke up. To eliminate any witness, the accused then suffocated the child with a pillow before fleeing the scene."

Background of Marital Strife

Investigations uncovered a backdrop of intense marital discord. Bhavari had not been living with his wife for several days prior to the murders, as she suspected him of infidelity. The couple had married two years ago, following the death of the complainant's first husband. Recently, tensions escalated when the wife alleged that Bhavari was involved with another woman, leading to frequent and heated arguments.

Police examined the complainant's cellphone and found that since Wednesday, Bhavari had been in constant contact with her via calls on a mobile messaging application. "We discovered that the couple had a particularly intense argument on Wednesday," Inspector Narke added, highlighting the volatile nature of their relationship.

Arrest and Investigation Details

When authorities initially attempted to contact Bhavari, he was unresponsive. However, they eventually reached him through a messaging app call and instructed him to come to Alandi. "He tried to evade us by claiming he lacked funds for travel," Inspector Narke explained. "This raised our suspicions, prompting us to dispatch a team to apprehend him. He was successfully taken into custody at Ale Phata."

The case continues to be under active investigation as police work to gather further evidence and understand the full scope of the events leading to this tragic double murder. The community remains in shock, with local residents expressing deep concern over the violent nature of the crime.
