In a significant breakthrough, the Dehu Road police in Pune have successfully dismantled a vehicle theft operation, arresting three individuals and recovering stolen property valued at approximately ₹5 lakh. The police action, carried out on Monday, led to the seizure of five motorcycles and one autorickshaw, marking a crucial step in curbing vehicle-related crimes in the region.

According to police officials, the trio had been actively involved in stealing two-wheelers from various locations across Pimpri Chinchwad over the past three months. The operation was spearheaded by senior inspector Vikram Bansode, whose team acted on a specific tip-off regarding a suspicious motorcycle rider.
The accused have been identified as:
- Ishwar Gaje (22), a resident of Khalumbre village
- Aniket Vitkar (20), from Moshi
- Aryan Raut (19), also from Moshi
How the Police Uncovered the Theft Network
The investigation began when police received information about a man riding a motorcycle without a registration number plate in the Dehu Road area. "We chased and apprehended the rider, who was identified as Gaje," explained an officer from the Dehu Road police station. "During interrogation, he confessed to stealing the motorcycle and revealed the involvement of two accomplices."
Following this lead, the police swiftly arrested Vitkar and Raut. "We subsequently arrested the other two accused and recovered four more motorcycles and an autorickshaw from them," the officer added, highlighting the coordinated effort that led to the recovery of all stolen vehicles.
