A tragic incident unfolded in Noida when a 17-year-old boy, identified as Shyam, was stabbed to death following a violent argument over money collected during a wedding ceremony. The event occurred in the Jhundpura area, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Details of the Fatal Altercation

On Thursday night, Shyam and his younger brother attended a wedding procession at a banquet hall in Jhundpura. They were part of a group that included several local youths, some of whom were juveniles. During the procession, cash was distributed as part of a traditional ritual, and the youths collected it.

According to police reports, a dispute erupted later over the distribution of this money. A few juveniles accused Shyam and his brother of taking a larger share for themselves. The argument escalated as the group headed home, quickly turning violent.

In a fit of rage, one of the accused, Asif alias Atthi, allegedly attacked Shyam with a knife. Shyam sustained multiple stab wounds, including critical injuries to his abdomen, and collapsed on the spot.

Police Response and Arrests

Shyam was rushed to the district hospital in critical condition, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information and later sent the body for a post-mortem examination. The body was handed over to the family on Friday afternoon.

Based on a complaint filed by Shyam's father, Lucky Batham, an FIR was registered against Asif, Raunak, Tausif, Sudama, Sarfaraz, and two juveniles under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police arrested five suspects and detained two juveniles in connection with the case.

All the accused were produced before a court following their arrest. During the investigation, police seized Rs 1,770 in cash that was allegedly collected during the wedding, along with blood-stained clothes as evidence.

Background of the Victim and Accused

Shyam lived in Sector 11 with his family, where his father works as a daily-wage labourer. The accused reportedly confessed to the crime and revealed plans to flee to their village in Bihar after the incident. However, police tracked them down before they could leave the city.
