In a shocking incident in Nashik district, a 30-year-old man lost his life after being targeted for his mobile phone. The brutal murder occurred in the Sinnar taluka area, leading to a swift police investigation and the subsequent arrest of a suspect.

Victim Identified, Body Found on Village Road

The deceased has been identified as Kamleshkumar Patel, a native of Narsingpur in Madhya Pradesh. Patel was residing in Malegaon, near Sinnar, and was employed at a local industrial unit. His body was discovered on December 30 on the Paaste village road, close to Mohadari in Sinnar taluka.

Police Investigation and CCTV Breakthrough

Following the grim discovery, senior police officials, including Inspector Bharat Jadhav of MIDC Sinnar police station and Inspector Hemantkumar Bhamre of Sinnar police station, immediately visited the crime scene. They launched a detailed probe by forming multiple specialized teams.

After confirming the victim's identity, officers scoured CCTV footage from the vicinity of his residence. The footage revealed a critical clue: Patel was last seen riding a motorcycle with two other individuals. This visual evidence became the cornerstone of the investigation, allowing police to trace and identify the two men seen with him.

Confession and Arrest in the Case

Upon being questioned, one of the individuals, 25-year-old Arun Padmire from Igatpuri, confessed to the crime. According to his statement to the police, the motive was to rob Kamleshkumar Patel of his cellphone. Padmire, who knew the victim from before, allegedly lured him by inviting him to a party.

He took Patel to a secluded spot where he, along with an accomplice, killed him. Based on this confession and evidence, Arun Padmire was arrested on December 31. The court has remanded him to police custody, where he will remain until January 5 as the investigation continues to locate his accomplice.

The MIDC Sinnar police are actively pursuing further leads in the case. This incident has sent ripples of concern through the local community, highlighting issues of street crime and safety. The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation to ensure all involved are brought to justice.
