Authorities have identified one of the primary accused as Thangaraj, a resident who operates a fish shop in the Chettimarampatty area. According to police statements, Thangaraj had been involved in a romantic relationship with the college student from Chautahalli for over a year prior to this incident.

The troubling episode unfolded on March 26 when the female student was traveling on her college bus toward the Mannan Nagar area at Malayandahalli. Police reports indicate that Thangaraj, accompanied by two friends who were reportedly intoxicated, boarded the moving vehicle and aggressively attempted to pull the girl from her seat by physically grabbing her arm.
"Other students on the bus immediately intervened and engaged in a heated argument with the three men," stated a police officer familiar with the investigation. "The tense standoff persisted for more than twenty minutes before the trio ultimately fled the scene."
