Massive Security Deployment for Melukote's Vairamudi Brahmotsava in Mandya
Mandya district is gearing up for the grand Sri Cheluvanarayana Swamy Vairamudi Brahmotsava, scheduled to take place in Melukote on Saturday. The local police have finalized comprehensive security and traffic arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of thousands of devotees expected to attend the religious festival.
Elaborate Police Force Deployment
Mandya DSP VJ Shobha Rani has confirmed that a substantial police force will be deployed across the town. The security contingent includes seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs), 29 police inspectors, 71 Sub-Inspectors (SIs), 78 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and 800 head constables and constables.
In addition to the regular police personnel, the deployment features 75 women police officers, 150 home guards, three Karnataka State Reserve Police Force (KSRPF) platoons, five District Armed Reserve (DAR) platoons, one quick response team, and one anti-sabotage check team. This multi-layered security approach aims to cover all potential scenarios and ensure a safe environment for the event.
Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan
To manage the anticipated influx of vehicles, police have designated specific parking zones throughout Melukote. For two-wheelers, 14 parking locations have been arranged from Melukote Kanive Cross to the Guest House area. For four-wheelers, 12 parking spots have been earmarked from Gourikatti Circle to First Grade College.
Four police help desks will be operational throughout the festival to assist devotees with directions, information, and any emergencies that may arise during the celebrations.
Advanced Surveillance Systems
Security surveillance will be maintained through an extensive network of 100 CCTV cameras installed at key locations across the town. Additionally, three drone cameras will be deployed for aerial monitoring to provide real-time oversight and prevent any untoward incidents.
The combination of ground personnel and technological surveillance creates a robust security framework for the Vairamudi Brahmotsava, reflecting the administration's commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly religious celebration.
