Prime Accused in Major MD Factory Case Apprehended After Months on the Run
In a significant breakthrough, Shamgarh police have arrested the prime accused in the high-profile Surajna MD drugs factory case, who had been absconding since February. The arrest was made along with two of his associates, marking a crucial development in the ongoing narcotics investigation.
Coordinated Police Operation Leads to Interception
Acting on specific intelligence received on Thursday, police teams from Shamgarh swiftly mobilized to intercept the suspects. According to Mandsaur Superintendent of Police Vinod Meena, the operation was meticulously planned based on a credible tip-off regarding the suspects' movements.
The police teams successfully intercepted three men near the railway ground in Shamgarh. The individuals were reportedly waiting to board a train destined for Delhi and Punjab, with the intention of transporting illegal contraband to these locations.
Details of the Arrest and Seizure
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pradhan Singh, Bhagwan Singh alias Bablu, and Dilip Singh. During the interception, authorities seized a plastic bag in their possession containing 1.245 kilograms of opium. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is approximately Rs 2.49 lakh.
A formal case has been registered against the trio under the stringent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This legal action underscores the serious nature of the charges and the comprehensive approach being taken by law enforcement.
Background of the Prime Accused
Pradhan Singh, a resident of Nalkheda in Mandsaur district, had been evading authorities since February 7th. He was named as the main accused in the Surajna MD drugs factory case, which has drawn significant attention from investigative agencies.
Investigators revealed that chemicals allegedly supplied by Pradhan Singh were instrumental in the manufacturing process at the illicit factory. These chemicals were used to produce a thick MD drug mixture weighing 12.61 kilograms, along with 102 grams of processed MD that were seized during an earlier raid on the facility.
Criminal History and Ongoing Investigations
Police records indicate that Pradhan Singh has a history of involvement in narcotics trafficking activities. His criminal background includes a previously registered case at the Iklhera police station in Jhalawar district, highlighting his established connections to the illegal drug trade.
The arrest represents a significant step forward in dismantling the network associated with the Surajna MD factory operation. Authorities continue to investigate the broader connections and supply chains involved in this sophisticated narcotics manufacturing and distribution ring.
Law enforcement officials have emphasized their commitment to pursuing all individuals involved in the case, with the recent arrests expected to provide valuable leads for further investigative actions. The successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of coordinated police efforts in combating organized narcotics trafficking in the region.
