A significant fire erupted at a plastic scrap warehouse located in the Koyla Nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Chakeri police station in Kanpur late on Sunday night. The blaze, which broke out suddenly, completely engulfed the facility, reducing all stored materials to ashes. Fortunately, authorities have confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident.
Firefighting Efforts and Response
Upon receiving the alert, the fire department swiftly mobilized four fire tenders to the scene. The firefighters worked diligently for approximately 45 minutes to bring the intense flames under control. Their prompt and coordinated efforts prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent properties, thereby averting potential further damage and ensuring the safety of the surrounding community.

Koyla Nagar chowki in-charge Rashtradip Singh provided details about the incident, stating that the warehouse was owned by an individual named Ejaz. "The fire broke out suddenly and engulfed the entire warehouse in no time," Singh remarked. He further noted that the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined at this stage, with investigations ongoing to ascertain the origin and circumstances that led to the blaze.
Fire officer Rahul Nandan elaborated on the response, explaining that after receiving information from the control room, the firefighting team utilized four fire tenders to successfully extinguish the flames. Nandan emphasized that the operation of the warehouse is currently under scrutiny. "If the investigation reveals any violations of safety standards or regulatory norms, appropriate legal action will be taken as per the established rules," he asserted, highlighting the commitment to enforcing compliance and preventing similar incidents in the future.
