A woman hailing from Jhansi was discovered in a grave condition near the Ghatampur railway station in Kanpur and is now fighting for her life at the city's Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital, according to police officials. The incident came to light on Sunday when a patrol team spotted her.
RPF Team Makes a Grim Discovery
On Sunday, a team from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) was conducting a routine patrol in the vicinity of Ghatampur railway station. Their duty took a tragic turn when they found a woman lying in a dire state. She was soaked in blood and visibly writhing in immense pain.
The woman had sustained multiple serious injuries across her body. The severity of her wounds had led to excessive blood loss, rendering her condition extremely critical and requiring immediate medical intervention.
Swift Rescue and Race for Treatment
Displaying prompt action, the RPF personnel carefully lifted the injured woman and arranged for an ambulance. She was first rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Ghatampur for primary treatment. During their initial inquiry, items found on her person helped police identify her as a resident of Jhansi district.
Police are now coordinating with their counterparts in Jhansi to trace her family members and inform them about the distressing situation. Despite receiving care at the CHC, her health showed no signs of improvement.
Referred to Advanced Care at LLR Hospital
Given the critical nature of her injuries, the doctors at the CHC made the decision to refer her to the advanced trauma and care facilities of Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur. Here, she continues to battle for survival under intensive medical supervision.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Ghatampur, Krishnakant Yadav, addressed the media, stating that the exact sequence of events leading to the woman's injuries remains unclear. "The exact circumstances will be known after the woman regains consciousness," ACP Yadav said, indicating that the investigation is pending her statement.
The case has left local authorities deeply concerned as they work on two fronts: ensuring the woman receives the best possible medical care and piecing together the mystery of how she ended up critically injured near the railway tracks.
