Hoax Bomb Threat Triggers Security Scare at Jharkhand Civil Court

Panic erupted at the civil court premises in Sahibganj, Jharkhand, on Thursday after the district administration received a threatening email claiming the site would be blown up. The alarming message prompted an immediate and extensive security response, though it was later confirmed to be a hoax.

Swift Police Action and High Alert Status

Upon receiving the threat, police personnel swiftly cordoned off the court premises to ensure public safety. Bomb disposal squads were urgently deployed to conduct thorough searches of the area. No explosive materials were discovered during the intensive inspection, confirming the threat as false.

Sahibganj Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Singh addressed the incident, noting that similar hoax emails have been reported from various parts of the state in recent months. "We had prior instructions from the police headquarters and were prepared. Our team reached the spot promptly. It turned out to be a hoax," Singh stated, highlighting the police's proactive stance due to previous alerts.

Pattern of Similar Threats Across Jharkhand

This incident is not isolated. Over the past couple of months, civil courts and government establishments in Ranchi and Bokaro have also been targeted with comparable hoax emails. These repeated threats have kept law enforcement agencies on high alert, leading to enhanced vigilance and rapid response protocols.

The police are investigating the source of these emails to identify and apprehend those responsible. Authorities urge the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing that such hoaxes waste valuable resources and cause unnecessary panic.

As security measures remain tightened, the Jharkhand police continue to monitor the situation closely, ensuring the safety of judicial and government infrastructures across the state.
