Gurgaon Traffic Police Crack Down on Repeat Offenders with 50+ Pending Challans

In a significant enforcement drive, Gurgaon traffic authorities have identified 106 vehicle owners in the city who each have more than 50 pending traffic challans. Notices have been issued to these individuals, demanding immediate settlement of their dues to avoid stringent legal consequences.

AI Software Helps Identify Habitual Violators

The crackdown followed a comprehensive review of enforcement records, where traffic police discovered 142 vehicles with over 50 outstanding challans. Of these, 106 vehicles were registered at Gurgaon addresses, and their owners have now been formally served with penalty notices. A traffic police officer revealed that repeat offenders were pinpointed using advanced AI software, enhancing the efficiency of the identification process.

Strict Legal Action Threatened for Non-Compliance

ACP (Traffic) Headquarters/Highway Satyapal Yadav emphasized the seriousness of the situation. "If repeat offenders fail to pay the penalty even after receiving the notice, police will write to the SDM concerned regarding cancelling their vehicle registration certificates or impounding their vehicles," Yadav stated. This move underscores the zero-tolerance policy being enforced to improve road safety and discipline.

DCP Mohan Leads Drive for Enhanced Traffic Management

The enforcement initiative is being conducted under the direct supervision of DCP (Traffic) Rajesh Mohan, who has instructed officers to take strict action against habitual traffic rule violators. In a recent meeting chaired by DCP Mohan on Tuesday, attended by ACP Satyapal Yadav, ACP Traffic West Jai Singh, ACP Traffic East Sanjay, and other officials, strategies to bolster traffic management were discussed.

Officers were directed to rigorously enforce the zero-tolerance policy against traffic violations and prevent congestion at any point. "Additional police personnel will be deployed at sensitive and congestion-prone locations, and special enforcement drives will be conducted against vehicles without number plates or without HSRP number plates," officials announced.

Intensified Enforcement and Recognition for Campaigns

Vikas Kumar, the traffic police spokesperson, confirmed that traffic enforcement drives have been intensified across the city, with strict monitoring of violators to streamline traffic. "Cases are also being registered against serious violators," Kumar added, highlighting the comprehensive approach to curb infractions.

In a related development, DCP Mohan is set to be recognized for his contributions to traffic safety. "In recognition of these steps and for his 'drive right shine bright' traffic campaign, which recognises traffic heroes and encourages responsible driving, DCP Mohan will be facilitated in New Delhi next month," Kumar noted, underscoring the positive impact of ongoing initiatives.

This crackdown is part of broader efforts to enhance road safety in Gurgaon, leveraging technology and strict enforcement to address persistent traffic violations and promote responsible driving behavior among residents.
