Major Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Charges and Massive Fentanyl Seizure

In a significant crackdown on organized crime, police have charged four men and confiscated more than $2.3 million worth of suspected fentanyl. This operation is part of a comprehensive drug trafficking investigation that spanned from the Greater Toronto Area to Alberta, highlighting the cross-provincial nature of the illicit network.

Project OLLIE: An Intelligence-Led Probe

According to a police news release, the investigation, dubbed Project OLLIE, commenced in May 2025. Ontario police initiated this intelligence-led probe to dismantle a network allegedly involved in moving fentanyl between the GTA and Calgary. The operation underscores law enforcement's proactive approach to combating the opioid crisis.

Key Arrests and Seizures

On February 10, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Brampton. The search yielded approximately 18 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, an amount equivalent to roughly 180,000 potentially lethal doses. Additionally, three cellphones were seized as evidence.

As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old Navjot Singh of Brampton was arrested and faces multiple charges. These include conspiracy to commit indictable offences involving trafficking firearms and fentanyl, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and three counts of trafficking fentanyl. Following a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 6.

On the same day, 23-year-old Attarvir Singh of Calgary was arrested in Winnipeg. He is charged with conspiracy to commit trafficking fentanyl, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, and three counts of trafficking fentanyl. He was also remanded into custody and was due to appear in court in Brampton on March 4.

Further, on February 24, 21-year-old Balwinder Singh of Calgary was arrested. His charges encompass conspiracy to commit trafficking fentanyl, trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. After a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody and is set to appear in court in Brampton on March 6.

Warrant Issued for Fourth Suspect

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for 21-year-old Manpreet Singh, also of Calgary. He is wanted on serious charges, including conspiracy to commit trafficking firearms, conspiracy to commit trafficking fentanyl, and four counts of trafficking fentanyl. Authorities are actively seeking his apprehension to bring him to justice.

This operation marks a critical step in disrupting a dangerous drug trafficking ring, with police emphasizing the lethal potential of the seized fentanyl. The collaborative efforts between jurisdictions demonstrate a robust response to the ongoing opioid epidemic affecting communities across Canada.
