Four Men Arrested in Jamshedpur for Murder of Local Trader
In a significant development, police in Jamshedpur have apprehended four individuals in connection with the brutal murder of city-based trader Kanhaiya Yadav, which occurred on February 11. The arrests were made from various parts of the city, and authorities have recovered a firearm and pellets from the suspects.

Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey provided insights into the motive behind the murder. According to SSP Pandey, a dispute between Kanhaiya Yadav's son, Rahul, and a local youth named Sumit Singh escalated into a full-blown quarrel between their two families. This altercation ultimately led to the fatal attack on Kanhaiya Yadav.
"There is a history of enmity between the two families, and the recent fight between Rahul and Sumit served as the trigger for this tragic incident," stated SSP Pandey, highlighting the long-standing tensions that culminated in violence.
Details of the Arrests and Recoveries
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sumit Singh (24), Gurupreet Singh (24), Amrik Singh (26), and Raza Alam (24). All of them are residents within the limits of the Golmuri police station in Jamshedpur. During the arrests, law enforcement officials seized a country-made pistol, seven cartridges, and three pellets from the accused.
SSP Pandey confirmed that raids are currently underway to apprehend additional suspects linked to the case, indicating that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.
Incident and Aftermath
Kanhaiya Yadav, aged 49, was fatally shot while taking his morning walk at the Tinplate Sports Complex ground on February 11. Assailants fired four bullets into him, and he succumbed to his injuries later that day at a hospital. In response to the murder, Kanhaiya's family members organized a dharna and blocked a road for six hours on Thursday, demanding the swift arrest of those responsible for the crime.
