Delhi Traffic Police Issues Comprehensive Advisory for Sonu Nigam's Satrangi Re Concert

The Delhi Traffic Police has officially released a detailed traffic advisory in anticipation of the upcoming Sonu Nigam concert, titled 'Satrangi Re,' scheduled to take place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on March 28. The advisory, issued on Friday, outlines specific traffic restrictions and regulations that will be enforced in parts of central and east Delhi to manage the expected influx of spectators and ensure public safety.

Traffic Restrictions and Peak Hours

The concert is set to run from 4 PM to 11 PM, with authorities predicting peak traffic congestion between 2 PM and 10 PM due to the movement of attendees. To mitigate disruptions, traffic will be closely monitored and regulated along several key routes. Major stretches affected include:

  • IP Marg
  • Vikas Marg
  • Ring Road between Rajghat and IP Depot

During this period, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from traveling from Rajghat towards IP Marg. This measure aims to reduce congestion and enhance the flow of regular commuter traffic around the venue.

Stadium Entry and Parking Guidelines

To streamline entry and minimize chaos, the stadium will implement a gate-specific access system. Spectators are advised to note the following entry points:

  1. Gates 7 and 8: Accessible via Velodrome Road.
  2. Gates 16, 18, 21, and 22: Accessible via MGM Road along Ring Road.

Parking near the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium will be strictly regulated. Only vehicles displaying valid parking labels will be permitted to enter designated parking areas, with entry allowed exclusively from MGM Road. Vehicles without proper labels will not be allowed near the stadium premises. Additionally, to prevent obstructions, no parking will be allowed on Ring Road between Rajghat and the IP Flyover on both carriageways.

Commuters Urged to Plan Ahead

In light of these restrictions, the Delhi Traffic Police has strongly urged commuters to plan their travel in advance and adhere to all traffic instructions. Following these guidelines is essential to ensure smooth movement around the venue and avoid unnecessary delays. The advisory emphasizes the importance of cooperation from the public to maintain order and safety during the event.

This proactive approach by the authorities highlights their commitment to managing large-scale events efficiently while minimizing inconvenience to daily commuters. With the concert expected to draw significant crowds, these measures are crucial for maintaining traffic flow and public safety in the affected areas of Delhi.
