Known as Devanand within his family, Captain Singh had dedicated 24 years of his life to the merchant navy, showcasing a long and committed career at sea. He is survived by his wife, Ranju Kumari, and two sons: Pravar Singh, aged 20, who is a first-year engineering student in Bengaluru, and Aadhish, aged 14.
The family resides in the Argora area of Ranchi, while their ancestral home is located in Professor Colony in Biharsharif, Nalanda district. Born to the late Ramcharitra Singh, Captain Singh was the youngest of three brothers. His elder brothers, Umesh Kumar Munna and Shridhar Anand, continue to live in Nalanda, mourning the loss of their sibling.
