Bomb Threats via Email Trigger Security Alerts at Rajasthan District Courts
Courts in the Nagaur and Bikaner districts of Rajasthan were thrust into a state of high alert on Thursday after receiving bomb threats through emails. The alarming messages prompted immediate police action, including the evacuation of premises and comprehensive search operations, as confirmed by officials.
Nagaur District Court Receives Detailed Threat
In Nagaur, the district court received an email on Thursday morning that claimed bombs would explode on the court premises at 2 pm. The email, sent to the court's official ID, provided chilling details, warning that the explosives had been planted using drones and could cause an impact extending up to a 1.75-kilometer radius.
Police and security agencies swiftly responded to the threat, arriving at the court complex to oversee a precautionary evacuation. Following the clearance of the area, a thorough search operation was launched to inspect the premises for any suspicious items.
SP Nagaur Mridul Kachawa reported that no suspicious objects were discovered during the security sweep. "No suspicious item was found during the search, and further investigation is under way," Kachawa stated, emphasizing that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness.
Similar Threat Received at Bikaner Court
Meanwhile, a parallel incident unfolded in Bikaner, where the district and sessions court also received a similar bomb threat via email. In response, police conducted an exhaustive search of the Lunkaransar court premises, adhering to strict security protocols.
The police team evacuated staff from the building as a precautionary measure before initiating the inspection. Officials confirmed that the search yielded no suspicious findings, but the investigation remains active to identify the source of the threatening email.
"We followed the standard operating procedure in the matter, but nothing suspicious was found during the security search. The investigation is under way to track down the sender of the threat email," an official explained. The police are also enlisting the support of the cyber crime branch of the Rajasthan Police to aid in tracing the origin of the emails and apprehending those responsible.
Ongoing Investigations and Security Measures
Authorities in both districts are treating these incidents as serious security breaches. The use of email as a medium for such threats highlights the evolving challenges in maintaining public safety in digital age. Police have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the security of judicial premises and prevent any potential harm.
The investigations are focused on:
- Analyzing the email metadata to trace the sender.
- Collaborating with cyber crime experts to enhance digital forensics.
- Reviewing and strengthening security protocols at court facilities.
While no explosives were found, the incidents have underscored the need for heightened vigilance and rapid response mechanisms to handle such threats effectively. The police continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activities, as they work to resolve these cases and maintain law and order in the region.
