Panic Grips Bhiwani Court Complex After Shooting Incident

Panic spread through the Bhiwani court complex in Rohtak on Tuesday when attackers fired at a young man who had arrived for a hearing. The incident occurred near the tehsildar office on the court premises, causing immediate alarm among those present.

Police Swift Action Leads to Arrests

The police responded promptly, forming three to four teams to chase the assailants. Within two to three hours, the teams surrounded the suspects. According to Sumit Kumar, the superintendent of police, the accused opened fire on the police party, prompting the forces to retaliate and take all eight individuals into custody.

Two of the accused sustained bullet injuries in their legs during the encounter and were admitted to a hospital under police guard. The police identified the injured as Shripal from Dinod Gate and Ayush Boxer from Dabar Colony.

Details of the Attack and Suspects

Sandeep Tanwar, president of the Bhiwani Bar Association, reported that the initial firing took place around 11:45 am. He described how three attackers arrived from a lane adjoining the tehsildar office. After firing, two fled through the same lane, while one escaped in another direction.

Tanwar expressed concern over the incident, labeling it as unfortunate. He noted that a similar shooting had occurred in the court complex four to five months ago, leading to the arrest of 13 to 14 people. Following that event, security measures were enhanced, including the deployment of additional police commandos.

Gang Rivalry Connection and Suspect Identities

Superintendent Kumar stated that the shooting was linked to gang rivalry. All eight accused are residents of Bhiwani district. The police have identified them as Shripal from Dinod Gate; Jitender alias Jeetu and Ayush Boxer from Dabar Colony; Aman and Israel from Hindol; Deepanshu from Manan Pana; Sunny alias Sandeep from Lohani; and Vinod alias Binnu from Jeetuwala Johad.

The swift police action ensured that all suspects were apprehended, highlighting ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the area. This incident underscores the challenges faced by authorities in curbing gang-related violence in Haryana.
