Aurangabad Police Launch Intensive Search for Four Missing Girls

In a concerning development from Aurangabad district, four young girls have mysteriously disappeared from Tilauta Bigha village under the jurisdiction of Deo police station. The alarming situation has prompted local authorities to take immediate action, forming a dedicated Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace the missing individuals and ensure their safe recovery.

Police Complaint and Initial Findings

The case came to light when Ravindra Yadav, a resident of Tilauta Bigha and son of the late Vanshi Yadav, filed a formal written complaint with Deo police on January 20, 2026. In his statement, Yadav reported that his daughter, Runi Kumari, had left their family home without providing any information about her whereabouts and had failed to return.

During the preliminary inquiry conducted by police officials, investigators uncovered disturbing details. Three other girls—Komal Kumari, Sweety Kumari, and Kashish Kumari—were allegedly involved in luring Runi away from her home. Based on these findings and the initial complaint, Deo police promptly registered a formal case under relevant legal sections and initiated a comprehensive investigation.

Pattern of Repeated Disappearances

Speaking about the case, SP Ambarish Rahul revealed a troubling pattern that has emerged during the investigation. According to police records, Komal Kumari and Sweety Kumari had previously gone missing on September 16, 2025, without informing their families. They returned home two days later, claiming they had simply gone on a trip.

The situation escalated when, on January 9, 2026, all three girls—Komal, Sweety, and Kashish—disappeared together once again. Surprisingly, their families chose not to report this incident to police authorities, possibly due to the repetitive nature of such occurrences within the community.

The chain of disappearances continued when, on January 18, 2026, their friend Runi Kumari left her home under the pretext of attending school and has remained missing since that date.

Police Response and Investigation Strategy

Given the seriousness of the situation involving multiple missing minors, police authorities have taken decisive action. A special investigation team has been constituted under the leadership of the Deo officer-in-charge, with the primary objective of locating and recovering all four girls safely.

SP Ambarish Rahul confirmed that the SIT is employing multiple investigative approaches:

  • Utilizing technical surveillance methods to track potential leads
  • Conducting raids at suspected locations based on gathered intelligence
  • Employing all possible means to accelerate the search operation
  • Coordinating with local communities to gather additional information

The police have emphasized their commitment to resolving this case promptly, with ongoing efforts focused on the earliest possible recovery of the missing girls. The formation of the SIT reflects the heightened priority given to this investigation by Aurangabad district police authorities.
